Yes! However Revit was not installed on the machine. I have one user who for
the last several months who's license (stand alone) would need to be
re-activated. I have spent a lot of time with Autodesk to resolve this and
even had them in a web session on the machine.
They feel it might be a usb device. Are any of your users using an external
usb storage device. Autodesk says that the software looks for the license on
the C drive, however it actually looks for disk 0 not the c drive. By
default disk 0 is the c drive. Some usb storage devices when plugged in
remapped the drives and takes over disk 0 thus making the c drive, disk 1 so
to say, therefore Autocad already programmed to look for the license on
drive 0 no longer sees the license there. Understand? Once Autocad loses the
license it stays lost no matter what you do till you re-activate it.
If you are not sure what I mean, right click on my computer and select
MANAGE, then disk management. This will display your drives.

We are planning to implement Revit. In just the last two days several of
our drafters installed Revit 9 in demo mode. One has had no problem, but
two of them did; the next time they rebooted and tried to start Autocad 2006
they got an error about Autocad not finding the server license (?) and it
wouldn't run. They had to uninstall Revit and run "repair installation" on
Autocad from the control panel, and they were able to recover Autocad with
all their settings.
Our IT Manager has a call in to our vendor. Has anyone else seen this
problem or might have an idea as to what's going on and how to fix it? We
really want to get drafters here started with learning how to use Revit.
Thanks!
