REVIT 8.0

Hi,
I just bought a new workstation with dual xeon 3.6GHZ, 2GB RAM and upgrade
REVIT 8.0
I don't know what I did wrong, the REVIT is really really really SLOW!!!!!!.
Can someone tell me why?

turn off open gl and overlay planes in settings. see if that helps.

Are your using worksets? Is the system on a network?

yes, it is a workset file and on the network.

Hi Tobin.
Where r u located.?
there is nothing wrong with your machine..even if you are using the dual opteron SUN machine and gigabyte LAN connection and super fast IBM server, the workset will slow down your work.. I have the same problem with the workset. See how much "folder_backup" on your server revit has created for you when u do STC (save to central). "8" does not help much either with this matter, does it? Halo autodesk member..help please?...

But in Worksets, you should be working on a local copy, not the Central File
on the server. Speed should not be an issue in this case, because the
network only comes into play during STCs.

If Revit runs slow all the time, when opening/working on any file, including
the tutorial files, then something is wrong...typically a graphics issue.
Download the latest drivers for your graphics display from the computer
manufacturer, not the graphics card company.

Also, try contacting Support with your speed issues.

Is the Central file residing on a Novell network? We have run into a problem is this situation.
