This is my first post in this forum. And I wanted to give you a problem/solution I accidentally found while I was developing a "generic family" .
The problem is that you can`t use the Paint Tool to give material to "generic model family" face, and the solution is that you have to try cut / join (located in the Modifiy Tab- see atatchmen 1.jpg-) the generic family with another generic family (try only, because they dont have to be (necessary) intersecting each other - see atatchmen 2.jpg-) and then the faces will be like "activated", then you would be able to paint the generic family faces. 🙂
