Revit 2015 - Material Takoff from nested Family

Hi,

I am trying to create a material take off schedule in my project. The parent family is a curtain panel family, which has a nested generic model family. There are "painted" faces in the generic model. The generic model family is Shared and nested into the parent Curtain panel family.

when i load the curtain panel family into my project, and create a curtain panel Material take Off schedule, the schedule recognises there are different material, but the area's all relate to the grid dimensions of the panel it's hosted in. eg. 4.8m x 4.2m = 20.16m2. And does not apply areas for the materials nor recognise the profile of the panel.

I loaded the generic model into the family and created a Material Take off from this and the area's seem to be correct.

Is there a way i can get the curtain panel material take off to schedule the materials from the generic model that is nested into it and give accurate results or does the curtain panel schedule on schedule the panel dimensions defined by the grid?

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul.

This sounds similar to the issue addressed in Hotfix for Autodesk Revit 2014 - Multi-Category schedules and MFCDockableFrame API.

If you haven't already installed this hotfix, do you see different behavior after installing it?

Hi Lance,

I have installed the Hotfix and it does seem to be working now.

Thanks for your response on this.

Regards,

Paul.
