Revit 2013 and Globe Link

I was just wondering if anybody has managed to get the Globe link extension to work with 2013. I keep getting the error

"You must turn off Google Earths Terrain before acquirment"

I get this even after turning off the terrain feature.

I have installed the latest version of Google Earth.

What version of Global link are you using?

Google link was optimized for the Google Earth version 5.0, so this could be a possible reason why acquire doesn't work.

It also could be your regional settings of your Windows  (decimal symbol = point, digital grouping symbol = comma)
As far as this issue is concerned, could you fix the problem by changing this setting or using GE version 5 (or combining both)?

Our developers are aware of this issue and working on a fix.

I'm using the latest version of Google Earth Pro v 6.2.2.6613 (April 11 build) and found the only way yo get revit 2013 to view in the latest version, is to export as kmz after adjusting the project location, then importing the kmz to GE. Its a bit tricky on location to get the insertion point correct and not all shapes came in, I could import simple mass and construction shapes, fence, but not all families import. Has anyone else experienced this? As for windows comma and decimal, I di check and the setting were correct, I wondered, thiugh if Windows need a 7 decimal place setting versus 2 as that seams to be how accurate GE is for lat/long (see attached)

Not to be a pest, but are you working on it? I have been trying to use this tool for a couple years now and have never once seen it work properly. I mean how long does it take to fix it? This would actually be a really handy tool if anyone could get it to work.

Old post but I am still trying to get this tool to work.

What I do is:

In a Google Earth, I wind a location and zoom inn all the way down , then tilting camera so I look direct from above, and then I press N to get Noth direction correct.

I switch back to Revit and site view. Add-ins -> Acquirement. Then I get this error: "Camera is too high or tilted down too much in Google Earth. Try zooming in or tilting up a little bit first". Every single time.

So what am I doing wrong? Ow, btw. same thing happens in Revit 2014.

I get the message about turning off the terrain feature, but it works anyway.  However, after publishing the model back out to GE, the scale is way off in 2014.  Scale was a little off in 2012, seemed to be fixed in 2013, now is way off in 2014.
