Revit hungs for 30min to 1 hr when I try to open an existing file, create a new project, a new family or a new conceptual mass.
However, this happens only the first time after I start Revit.
Is this happening to anybody else? Any suggestions?
Thanks
I wanted to pass along 2 possible conflicts below in regards to the Communication Center and the RPC Content Client. Please let me know if these are helpful in resolving the issue:
Revit 2011 products hang when creating or opening a project - http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS15040187
The second is listed for AutoCAD, but the same process can cause Revit 2011 to hang as well:
InfoCenter process prevents AutoCAD 2011 from starting - http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS15228698
Thanks for your reply.
1. the ACM is already set at the suggested address and port.
2. I have ended the process for WSCommCntr2.exe but it reappears everytime I start Revit 2011.
Revit still hangs
One additional item may be a file on the recent files list which could no longer be available or on a location currently not accessible.
We can test clearing out the list as explained in step # 3 below. This is for Revit 2010, but the process is the same for 2011 at the new location “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Architecture 2011\Program”.

If the issue still persists, I would verify if there are any custom places under Options > File Locations > Places. If you added any here, test removing them to see if the issue persists.
Lastly, if the issue still continues try launching Revit by highlighting the Revit shortcut, right-clicking > Run As Administrator.
Journal file:
1. License Connection: the 2 time stamps are close together.
2. Protein Material: this is different from 2010. My 2011 Data folder does not contain a Rendering subfolder.
3.Revit.ini recent files: I followed what it said. I still get the delay.
I still get the delay which is noticeable in the log file.
Are the template files located on the workstation or a network location? If network, if you temporarily copy and change the path to the local workstation does the issue persist?
