Revit 2008 licence problem

Hi,

I'm currently responsible for the implemetation of AutoCAD Revit 2008 within a highschool. I'm having trouble however getting the licencing to work. This has been a problem for a while and has been assigned to me recently due to a leaving co-worker. To resolve this problem I have built a virtual server from scratch based on windows server 2003 with Service Pack 1 and then the version of FlexLM that was included with the product. I have imported the licence file and everything seems to be ok until I try to obtain a network licence from within Revit. An error 1.5.-5 shows up saying a licence could not be obtained. The strange thing is that within our productionnetwork, some clients are able to obtain a licence. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Log files below...

-Permission acces to the server?
-Under a student account can you browse to the server on the net work?
-Also try entering the IP of the server or the server name(wich ever one you
are not working with).
-Check your client registry enteries in the computers people are logged
onto.
-Check that local software firewall is down(I'm not saying keep it down,
just try it down).
-Do you have the most recent version of FlexLM?
-Do a status report on the server and check for any error codes.

SRobbins, thanks for your reply.

I checked the things you mentioned again to make sure but everything seems to be ok. Permission access is all good. Tried entering the ip as licenceserver without results. The setup im trying now is with a clean virtual licence server and a clean client on a seperate network with administrator privileges and all firewalls disabled. And as for the flexLM version; I used the version that was included (and presumably tested) with the package. I think we've tryed just about everything; We even tried installing revit onto the server itself but then still no licence can be obtained.

Try editing the LICPATH.LIC file in the "Program" folder underneath the install folder for Revit on one of your computers.

If the subscription number is on the first line of this file take it out so that only the names of your server(s) is/are in the file.

The file may look like this (if you have one server):

SERVER "name of server" 00123f2accaa 27005
USE_SERVER

If there is more that one server, there will be more "server" lines in the file.

If all other licensing related pieces of the puzzle are in place, this is the last thing I had to do to allow Revit 2008 to access a license on our network.

Hope this helps.
