Restructuring Family Naming

I currently have a project I'm working on and I have run into an issue. So far we have been able to develop families then drop the into the project and all has been fine. We have now been informed of a change in the naming convention needed for this project.

The client has asked that we restructure it like so

example: Storage racking

Family - Furniture

Type - Perforated Shelving System

Currently it shows up as

Family - EZPS-4-6x12

Type - Perforated Shelving System

The only way I have found thus far to get the family to show as the right classification is the rename the family from EZPS-4-6x12.rfa to furniture.rfa which will not work for me as I have several other items I also need to classify as Furniture in the family field. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit - This is in Revit 2013, I've attached a photo to demostrate how my families are currently set-up.
