Render floor plan views?

Is it possible to render floor plan views and have a 2d drawing with shadows and advanced lighting instead of shaded views?

(instead of exporting the model in 3d packages which is a bit problematic rendering top views and then combining pdfs with jpgs)

If not, are you planning to intergrate something like that in future releases?

Thanks in advance,
best regards
mike

First, make a normal non-perspective 3D view. Then, go into the view properties and turn on the Section Box. Drag the handles of the Section Box around to crop your model however you like. Then go to the View->Orient->Top view to auto-rotate the view to a plan view. Finally, render away!
