reference lines not showing up in 3D view ???

I was following a youtube video doing furntiure design in Revit and we did create reference lines in side view.

in 3d view in the video the lines are visible - in my case only the annotations !!!

my annoations are there some of the new drawn lines but none of the previous defined lines

The reference lines are there...I have hidden the annotations in the 3D view

Some of the reference lines were obscured by the annotations (those can be switched off).

Revit has the habit (bug?) of  putting some of the dimensions/annotations far away from the object in 3D View which  might have misled you.

The annotations in lower right corner of your screenshot is a typical example of this behaviour
