Railing Post that Cuts Non-Continuous Rails

I need to create a railing where the non-continuous rails are actually non-continuous and are interuoted by the posts.  I think I've tried every combination of railing configurations but nothing seems to make the rail start and stop at either side of the post.  Is it possible to create a railing in the attached image using only posts and rails, or am I going to need to resort to utilizing panels, instead?
