RA 2014: Window family template - flip control non-deletable?!

In the window family template, the flip control that is in the template, is non-deletable. Why is this? It makes our method of making window-schedules practically unusable, because the flip-control-state can't be read from our model (thus it's impossible to say how many windows must be manufactured 'mirrored').

In the doors family template however, both flip controls are deletable..?!?

Perhaps somebody has a tool/tip/hack for this one.. Thanks in advance!

You can do what you want using as Template instead of Window Family , a Generic Model Wall Based .

  1. Open the template file Generic Model Wall Based
  2. Place the Reference Planes for width, sill height and head height and from Create>Opening
  3. in sketch mode align and lock the opening edges to the Reference Planes created before
  4. Do not place Control , if this is what you want
  5. from Create > Family Category and Parameters > change from Generic Model to Windows  so to be recognize as window in schedules.- Save under a winow family name and load into the project
  6. in project insert the new created into walls and make schedules...
