"No points were found in the file." when I try to import CSV point file in Topo.

I downloaded an ACS point file for LiDAR data. I was able to successfully connect it to Autocad Map 3D, and generate a surface.

This is the ACS file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9wdjczxl300oi10/SJ8599_DTM_1M.asc

However when I tried to import it in Revit via Massing&Site->Topo-> Import Point File, after converting it to CSV in Microsoft Excel I get the message "No points were found in the file."

Also, the ASC file fails to import in Autodesk Recap.

This is the converted CVS file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nfkyplok587ypv5/LiDAR%20Scan.csv

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I suspect that the problem might be in the ASC to CVS conversion. Do you have any suggestions/settings on doing the conversion differently?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the ASC extension is commonly used for any ASCII content.  What you have is an ESRI Ascii Grid and your CSV is identical.  Assuming you need an X,Y,Z ascii file, this ZIP file should be what you need (it was converted in our AutoCAD based MapWorks product).

Is there a need for surface import tools inside Revit to handle files like these (and others we support)?
