Hi Autodesk - Revitteam
I've run into a problem with stacked walls, which now has started to irritate me.
My stacked wall contains two types of wall, with each different instance parameter.
Is it really true, that i can't type any instance parameter on a stacked wall?
I can tab myself into each of wall in the stacked wall, but then the instance parameters are graytoned! Is the only opportunity really to "break up" the wall?
Hope someone has solved this problem?
The way I understand it--Unless something has changed recently, this is expected behaviour.
Editing of the individual component Wall Types cannot be done from the Properties window of the Stacked Wall--just the way various Wall Types are included inside the Stacked Wall.
You must edit the included individual Wall Types to affect them in the Stacked Wall.
I found that the help topic Modify Instance Properties for Subwalls states “The only instance properties that you can directly specify for subwalls are Room Bounding and Structural Usage. The remaining properties are inherited from the stacked wall type and are read-only.”
Looking at the attached screenshots, the only instance properties that I would imagine you would want to change would be the Text category (Lyd, Brand, etc). Additionally, I suspect that these were added to the Wall category using a Project Parameter (which is not affecting Stacked Walls).
If the Stacked Walls were showing the text category added to the Walls in the project, then you could modify the instance parameter within the Stacked Wall directly. (There is currently an open wishlist item for this functionality.)
Do you want to be able to set these parameters for the Stacked Wall, or do you want to specify separate parameters for the subwalls?
