PROBLEM WITH ARCH IN A CEILING

Hi, im trying to draw an arch in a ceiling.

As you can see from the attached image (called A) there are unwanted lines both (horizontal and vertical) showing within the arch.  These unwanted lines represent the vertical walls that join into the face of the arch.

We have created the arch by using the “roof by extrusion” tool as you will see in image (B).

We would like to avoid having the vertical lines crash inside of the arch.  These vertical lines have been labeled 3,4.

We would also like to try and remove the one horizontal line which is the point at which the arch hit the straight wall.  This line has been labeled as line 1

We also have an issue with Line 2.  Line 2 is the line of the ceiling meeting the other wall.  This represents the the “rood by extrusion” command which is currently set to 2”.

Any thoughts most welcome.

Where is "image A" or which one is "image B"? By looking at the image that you posted, it seems that you are doing a "roof" by extrusion that includes the walls, also? Maybe, try to model it as it will be built. Make the walls as walls, and make the curved ceiling as a separate entity, perhaps as a model in-place within the "Ceiling" category, but separated from the walls.
