Problem calculating gross wall area

How do I get Revit to schedule the gross exterior wall area? I've searched this forum and others, but haven't found a solution. An isolated wall will schedule OK, but once you join it to  another at a corner, the reported wall area doesn't match the exterior wall area.

Can you explain in a little more detail what happens to the reported area when the wall joins to another?

Walls will join with a butt join - so one of the walls will likely show a higher area than the other when joined. If you go to Modify > Edit Wall Joins and change it to a miter join they should be equivalent. Is this what you are looking for?

If you have an exterior wall that is 10 m x 10 m joined to two other walls, the reported area is less than 100 m2. The reported length is less than 10 m. Apparently the length is to the midpoint of the joined wall. Is there any way to schedule the actual exterior length (and thus also the area) of a wall?

I set up a quick example with 3 walls that are 10m x 10m, mitered the joins, and the resulting calculation uses the exterior length, not based on the midpoint:

Is this different than what you see on your end, or am I perhaps misunderstanding the issue?

OK, got it now. I guess my walls weren't mitered properly before. Now with the Wall Opening Area add-in, I can add back the window and door areas to get the gross area. Great!

Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply.
