Printing Elevations with shadows

We have done a couple of high rise residential buildings & are having trouble printing the elevation sheets. All other drawing sheets print at a regular speed but when it goes to print out the sheets with the elevations it takes about 15-20mins to load the pages. I think it has something to do with recalculating the shadow generation.
We have tried several printers both networked & direct connection & printing as pdf, all take just as long. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the way it is. shadows take a lot of time, 15-20min sounds about right.

You can use a PDF printer like PDF Factory. With PFD Factory you can print
with 300 or more dpi. Load PDF and print though Acrobat.

If you are using shadows or printing 3-d drawings, make sure you use raster and not vector processing. This may require that you print these sheets as a seperate batch from the rest of the set. The set-up is set in the settings...setup...hidden line views menu drill down of the Revit PDF writer Print Setup menu. Otherwise, yes, it will take forever, if ever to process.
