Patcher for revisions

Should there not be a patcher instead of the revit reinstall?
ie uninstall 2008 and reinstall 2008-1700 build

Is there another easier way? am I taking the wrong approach as i have to roll this out again.

There is no other way. But given that you need to re-install program only,
with hi-speed connection it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes including
downloading.

by "re-installing" can the machines simply just install over the current installation without un-installing?

or

do they also need to un-install and then install Build 1700?

It will install over the existing build of the same version and will ask if
you want to overwrite your libraries.

No, it has to remove earlier program version first.

Mine just over wrote the build of the same version. If the question is do
you end up with two copies of the same version then the answer is no.

I was just worried about leaving behind older programing files on another install.

Libraries, we just batch copy the content to have a consistant library.
