Panel edit mode

How can I make the Edit Mode visible after creating an object (i.e., Stair, Roof, Ramp, etc.)?

Are you looking for the contextual ribbon panels that should appear?  Are you running 2012 or 2013 on a computer that has had .Net 4.5 installed on it?  There is a hotfix for 2012 or Service Pack 3 for 2013 that will enable them to run with .Net 4.5 and show contextual ribbon tabs/panels correctly.
