Oxy Moron..............Parameters

Trying to get one parameter (shared) to read from an system family, for a multitude of tag extractions for different schedules.........So when I attempted top do do as attached....I get told I can't do this........My questions is.....If what it tells me is true, then what are doing within families????

One can only use formulas that reference other Parameters in the Family Editor and in Calculated Values. You cannot create such formulas in the Project Environment. For this reason, it is not possible to have formula-driven Parameters in System Families, unfortunately.

Yea, I knew that...I was just venting because this would solve a lot of
frustrations if we could.
