Open Revit in Inventor

I have a Revit model of a building with 10 floors.
I can open this model in Inventor.
But when I open the whole model in Inventor and place on every floor my ceiling then become the model very very heavy.
How can I save the parts per floor from Revit and open in Inventor.
Is there a way to save only those parts per floor.

Mvg Jos
Youre drawings are as good as the symbols that compleet them.....

I don't think opening Revit in Inventor is a good practice--it is usually the other way around--import Inventor files into Revit, when a complex form or special type of geometry is required that cannot easily be modeled in Revit and / or is provided by another party in Inventor format.

The "scaling" of Revit is for large, "building" or even "campus" of multiple buildings on large sites.

Inventor is "scaled" to create smaller items which would be placed into a larger scale Revit model.

You can create a 3d view of the Revit model, right click on the view cube and select "Orient to View" and select a floor plan. This will apply the view range of the plan view as a section box to the 3d model. Now you can export this 3d view to DWG or SAT to open in Inventor.

Jeff,

Does ADSK file format work from Revit into Inventor? ( I know it's set up for Civil 3D file workflow.)

You are right. ADSK is for from Revit into Civil 3d. Use ADSK from Inventor into Revit.

Thanks Jeff.

This is what i am looking for.

I can even change the box with the little arrows if i want more to export.

The Inventor model will be export as a ADSK file.

In Inventor there is Bim Exchange that wil export the Inventor assy to ADSK.

Thanks.
