Nested DWG in Revit file, exporting to DWG

We have projects that link in ACAD (DWG) files to Revit.  Our client wants us to export the project to DWG for them.  So we have to export our Revit model view with the DWG links attached and want it all to be one DWG file at the end.  We can do that but I can't seem to control how the linked CAD layers are coming out.  The "Imported Categories" option in the DWG/DXF Export Settings is grayed out. And we have too many sheets to use the "Export Views on Sheets and links as external reference" option.  Too many sheets to have to go back and combine them all.

I am facing the same. Is it not possible to Import a dwg to Revit, then Export to dwg with control over the mapping? Dale
