Moving objects vertically in 3d view

Can anyone please let me know if there is a way to move objects in vertical direction (z-axis) in 3d views, without having to turn the view everytime to be of frontal direction. I would like to move entire objects - for example mass objects - up or down directly in a 3d view of random orientation, now only top- or bottom face can be moved vertically, the whole object moves only on xy -plane. Can vertical movement of an object be done intuitively graphically and/or can it be be numerically, feeding coordinates?

Have tried all sources, but cannot find solution, and refuse to believe that Revit would be the only 3d/bim software on planet where direct vertical manipulation of objects is not possible.

Thanks a lot in advance!

You could change the "Offset from level" value in the properties of the mass.

Thanks for this. It helps a bit, but does not really offer the flexibility I was looking for. The offset seems to get undone when the mass is being edited, and the offset function is not available for objects, which are members of a bigger mass complex. It seems there is no shortcut key or any other way, to change and lock the movement to vertical direction in 3d views (apart from frontal views), correct?

In a 3D view, if you select the move tool, by default, it will allow you to move objects in the X and Y coordinates, but there is a way to move objects in the Z coordinate, click on one of the view cube elevations, you will still be in a 3D view, looking at it from a side, and youwill be able to move the objects in the Z coordinate, as soon as you orbit, you will be back on the X and Y coordinates.

thanks, this I am already aware of, but it is frustrating always having to switch between axo and elevational viewing directions..It seems vertical manipulation is just less intuitive than yx directions in revit.

Create a specific level just for the object you need to move up or down.  Then place any of the objects on that level as a base (if they are already are in the model then cut and past to that level).  Now, when you need to adjust elevation in 3-D do it from an elevation view (dynamically by having both 3D and elevation open) by selecting the said level in elevation view and adjusting its elevation by arrow key or specific elevation to any point you like.
