Market Share in China and India?

I'm trying to determine the current market penetration in China and India.

It's very very difficult to do business with China.

The Chinese LOVE AutoCAD. They even have their

own AutoCAD clone.

China's interest in Revit has come a little later than

it has in the US, but it's coming just the same. Of course.

Edit: Revit is big in the UK, but in Germany they only

use Archicad, All Plan and VectorWorks.

India does a lot of outsourcing for architecture and

they like all Autodesk programs.

though question is not clear, I am taking it from perspective 'Revit penetration in Chinese and Indian market'.

China is far advanced in technologies adaption and manufacturing but as far as Revit uses is concerned, India is way ahead and there are reason behind it, I am trying to list few of them.

  • Language - Indian people speak and write excellent englist but Chinese prefere to stick to native language.
  • Line of business - China has stronghold on manufacturing industry and supplies products across the globe where India is know for its services industries, Indians are considered to be intelligent people who are very flexible and can work on different platform (software), can develop these and can coordinate with people all across the world.
  • India is a big time user of Autodesk platform and they found it very easy to switch from AutoCAD to Revit. Chinese are intelligent people who doesn't takes risk in trying new technology without making sure it will work
  • India has a large base of Autodesk users (almost 6 times than China), it includes the licensed and pirated version users.
  • China has a very high potential to implement BIM in the construction projects, Indian construction industry has already started using BIM in more than 1/4th of their projects.
