Lost project browser

When opening revit architecture 2011 the project browser window and the properties panel covered the whole page. Trying to resize them, the project browser were suddenly lost and I can' find it anywhere. Also tried reinstalling the product. Hope someone can help me since it's quite hard to work without the project browser.

In case vector2's jpg shows up black like it does on my newsreader, this is
how you restore your PB in revit2011:
Make the View ribbontab active, click on User Interface (on the far right
side) and check Projec Browser.

Must be my newsreader (XNews).
JPG shows up OK in Windows Mail.

Sorry 'bout that, I should have looked first.

why in the world would anyone fool
around with a newsreader when
they can just go to:

Thanks for all your replies.

I've already tried all of the above possibilities. When I check off for the project browser the screen 'reacts' but no browser comes to view. The properties panel is no problem; that's turning on and off. The project browser is nowhere to be found.. Edited by: annikina on May 20, 2010 5:57 PM

we get mostly all question to do with
why their program misbehaves so badly

truth is- i NEVER have had revit misbehave- never..

why? because i keep clean installations
on my hard drive.. and yes that means
deleting everything on the hard drive
periodically and putting the programs
back fresh..

but that is very easy to do..

? the solution?

Nothing happens when I turn the browser window on and/or off as already stated above, so the solution you posted is not the answer to my problem.

I think this was already tried and the project browser is still not visible.

You can try resetting the interface of Revit. There is a script to do this
located here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=14880949&linkID=9243099

This does however reset any changes you have made to the Qucick access
toolbar.

To just reset the project browser to the deafult location you can try this
when Revit is closed.

To reset your Project Browser to the default location:
a.. Using the Windows Registry editor, rename the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture
2011\Components\Panels
Warning! Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows registry could
render your computer operating system unusable. Microsoft provides a wealth
of critical information that you need to know about the registry in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/support.

Annikina, are you working on dual monitors? It sounds like Revit may think
you have 2 screens and have put the browser on the other monitor, even
though you are only using one. You might try toggling your graphics from
single to dual monitor mode and then back again and see if that helps.

Because navigating these forums using the web interface sucks.

And if you have ever used a decent news reader, you would not ever have to ask.

but i can't imagine how anything could be
nicer than this autodesk forum..

can you name one thing about this forum
where the news reader is better?

In a news reader, there is an option to filter out, ignore, don't read, don't pay attention to... anything that comes from a particular user.
We wish we had that feature here.

Get use to it. Autodesk is dropping support for newsreaders June 5.

Then you need to get outside more.

>can you name one thing about this forum

NNTP access through a newsreader is very fast - I can tell it to get all of the
new posts, even ones with attachments, and read the whole group later or
offline. It's MUCH more powerful all around, particularly in how I can filter
posts, group them, navigate to the different groups, etc. I can tell it to get
all posts under a certain size, then selectively retrieve the posts with large
attachments as necessary. I can subscribe to any number of groups and get all
new headers across the board in one fell swoop. And I can navigate the entire
discussion group tree using keyboard shortcuts.

People who have been brought up with web-based discussion groups are missing out
on the power. Autodesk is doing everyone a disservice by moving to a complete
web-based system.
