Locking a View

We have standard views in our project template that have the Visibility
Properties turned on or off for what things are on that view. What we would
like to do is to lock the view so that people cannot accidentally change
this "start off point". They should still have the capability of
duplicating the view and then being able to make changes. Anyone know how
to do this?

Check it out and don't check it back in. However that will cause other
issues as it locks the whole view.

The tool to use is view templates. Assign a default view template to each
view, then you can select all the views and restore them to the correct
settings with a right click of the mouse. I'd like to see this action become
automatic every time a user shuts down a session. But for now it only take a
couple of seconds before printing to reset everything.
