Live Schedules

I am starting to get familiar with REVIT. Can someone please clarify if REVIT is able to maintain schedules "live" (4d) in the plans? I am speaking about Door, window, room finish schedules, etc... In other words, once the schedules are generated, do they stay embedded in the plans and update automatically without having to generate them again as building design changes? (new doors are added, dimensions change, room finishes change, etc...)..and without having to update the links of these schedules.... How about "live" quantity take offs and estimates? How about "live" drawing extractions? Are they possible in REVIT. I emphasize that what i mean by Live is totally automatic, no work at all to update the schedules as work progresses...

TIA,

Al

Yes very much LIVE. You should try it. Open a new project and draw a wall
with a door in it. Create a door schedule. On the Window pulldown menu
select Tile, so you can see the floor plan and door schedule at the same
time. Then copy the door or add a new one and you'll see the door schedule
update automatically. In fact in the door schedule change the door width
and you'll see the door in the floor plan change size. You can actually
modify your building elements through the door schedule. Real frackin nice,
huh.

It gets better....
When you receive, for example, your window shop drawings for approval, open
your schedule and click on a window number, then click the SHOW button.
Revit will cycle through views (I prefer 3D) and let you review/count the
respective windows which show up in RED.
Very cool.
