Linking a view

How do I link an existing call out to an existing view?

Check the options bar when you create a elevation, section or callout...look for Reference Other View, check the box and pick from the list of views in the selector.

Making a new reference view and deleting an old non-reference one should
take about as much time at typing this response.

No, delete the reference and create a new one with the "ref other view"
option
