The limit meaning before it wraps to another line? If so, you have to edit the family and where the Label is for the name click it. Once clicked on, you should see a blue box around it with a dot on each side. Click on one of these dots and push or pull them to the desired size. This is how many characters you can type before the text wraps to the next line. I am unaware of any limit for length of text.
