Levels Extent

Why cant you see the extent of a level in plan view?

why can you only do this thru section and elevation, which is is hard to manage on a large project.

What if, you click a button in plan or select the level in a section, it then highlights a "extent box' in plan for you to modify (similar to the camera)

Thank you for opening this discussion.

We can edit or view Level extent lines only in Sections or Elevations.

Please refer to this:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/documentation/REVIT/2011/ENU/filesUsersGuide/WSfacf...

"Use the Level tool to define a vertical height or story within a building."

Level can be considerred as infinite plane of that partiular height, or Z coordniate. On the other hand, Camera view is a bit different from Level, as the view will be defiened within the camera frame. So we can edit the region in plan view as well.

Level extent will be the indicator for height of the level in Secion or Eelevation, just like put level lines in our conventional drawings. But this extents won't define the region of the floor plan. Or vice versa.

Hope this helps.
