Layers get mixed up, while we import CAD file in revit family file.

hi,

While we import the AutoCAD file in Revit either in a family file (.rfa) or in a project file (.rvt).

The drawing imported as a block and we get the following issues:

We can scale, rotate and move the manifold model to right measure of the original drawing as we made it in AutoCAD.

We can place the manifold model wherever we need in the building.

We can render it and make an output as an image file.

We can generate the report regarding model name, article number, manufacturer details, etc in a text format output.

But the layers and colors which we assigned in AutoCAD get mixed up.

In order that, we can’t get the same colors and layers for the parts as we had in AutoCAD.

And also it is very difficult to change the color of a particular object of the imported file in Revit.

Even we tried in many different ways we can’t find anyway better further.

Well, the only help I can provide here is that when you are in the "Import CAD Formats" dialog box in which you are choosing the file, there is a pulldown at the bottom called "Colors:". Verify that this is set to "Preserve" and not to "Invert".
