Why not? looks like the 'terrain sculpting' features are properly developed and quite easy to use. For plants n stuff you can either use the provided library or import any other 3d/cad object.
Get a 30day trial and try yourself.

Revit does some rudimentary grading, but it has nowhere near the
functionality of a full-blown grading design program. That's primarily a
civil engineering task - a completely different discipline.

Its extremely weak on phasing in landscaping as well as multiple other
areas. But if you are just looking for the final pretty picture you should
be good.

Matt,
Civil eng? for landscape design? I'd say these are almost completely independent categories. Correct, revit is not targeted at landscape architects but still a few landscape design features provided do the job pretty well for me.
Are there any additional/3d party plugins available?

Our company is heavily invested in Autodesk products and wishes to keep it that way, however in moving into a BIM environment we need revit to perform much like the following add-on for archicad.

Does this exist in the revit world?

Yes, and No. You can certainly create all of the items you want as what would probably e custom families. There are NO out of the box commands specific to landscape design. The "rocks" would be a problem in all likely hood.

Hi all,

for Landscape architect and it adoption of BIM, is it preferable to use/learn Civil3D or Revit? I know basically they do the same, but I am more concerned about things such as terrain modelling and importing blocks from a library such as Trees, shrubs, bins, benches, etc...

Revit seems not to have all the wanted tools (especially in DTM) to properly develop Landscape projects with the precision you expect to issue a project in BIM. Civil 3D seems to have certain tools for this, but not sure about the blocks etc...and a bit worried about the so meany other features included in the program which I am not interested at all (pipe calculations, etc...)

So what do you recommend?
