K-Series Joists making me go mad

Hello All,
I am trying to put in some K-Series joists in my model. I first tried it as a beam system, but that feature seems to suck because I cannot figure out how to control the spacing of the members per my structural engineers drawings. Then I tried inserting them one by one. The problem that I am running into is that I do not want to change the top chord extension length. I have a conc. wall in which I only want the top chord to bear halfway on the wall. Revit decides to bear the top chord over the the whole wall. When I click on the blue dot (the drag handle) and move it back an inch or so, it just goes back to the way it was. Am i missing the big point here, or is this program trying to do too much. I know that the structural section is a little different, but this portion of Revit seems to be a big pain. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Use the beam system to insert.

If you want to adjust the length of the top cord.. use a ref plane and cut
geometry to the length you need.
Remember ref plane are your friend. and if you erase the ref plane the top
cord will reappear.

If your having trouble on spacing you will have to use smaller beam systems.
But if you can set the spacing to and exact or equal. I always use the
beams system
and only span one bay as I alwasys want an joist on a column line.
