Is .adsk really that bad?

Hi all,

I'm trying to decide what's the best to export models from Inventor to Revit, which is either .rfa or .adsk. Creating a Revit Family is a lot of extra work compared to just exporting to .adsk. However, I've seen quite a few people stating that their firms never use anything besides native Revit content, because that really slow down their models. They also say .adsk is a terrible format. However, I have yet to find any credible source that supports these claims. So what I'm askng is, could anyone link me through to such a source?
