Inserting from another rvt file?

Hi everyone, I want to insert to my sheet a structural plan view from another rwt file.I tried this from insert tab(insert from file) but plan views aren't available in the window opened.I tried to explain this in the attachment via a picture.

Thank you very much...

A plan view in Revit is a live view of the model. It's not just a "representation".  You cannot just simply "insert a plan" from one project into another..it would require that the entire model be placed into the other project.

What davissc says is right.

But as you say that you need it only to insert the plan into your sheet , what about a workaround ?

I suggest to:

  • open the structural view plan and Export it as DWG.
  • then insert the dwg into your architecture host file , preferable into a Drafting View
  • with your mouse draw the Drafting View onto your sheet
