The inserted drawing seems to be a block, or one object.  Can I make the wall and other items separate?

Link Revit is something similar to External Reference from Autocad. The linked entity acts like a block but you can anytime open the original file , make changes and then reload it.

If you select the linked file , under Link there are two options : Bind Link and  Manage Links

  • Bind Link allows you to broke the link and merge the linked file into the host file (the settings of host file will override the settings of the imported file)
  • It is better to keep the link as it is ( not to bind link) . If you select the linked entity and use Tab you can indentify the components but not change them. In order to make changes you must open the linked file , make changes and then reload it into the host file: Manage > Manage Project > Manage Links >Reload.
