imported acad hatch patterns

I am having trouble with hatch patterns linked from acad into Revit. Most of our details on our project are drawn in acad, and I am linking the DWGs into the detail views. All works well, except for dense hatch patterns. The hatch patterns will only display correctly if the hatch scale is such that the pattern is sparse. Otherwise, the dense hatchs show as a solid fill.
Any suggestions?

First, you want to link your details into a Drafting view, not a Callout - Detail View, unless you meant by Detail view, Drafting view. If you import your DWG details into a Callout - Detail view the scale of the hatch patterns will not necessarly read correctly at the correct scale.

You could Region Fill over the DWG hatch patterns and/or eliminate all hatch patterns by layer on importing the DWG, but importing the DWG into a Dafting view will be more successful.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had been linking into a detail callout, but linking into a drafting view doesn't seem to make a difference. Neither does it make a difference if I import the DWG instead of link it.

Turning the hatch layers off in Revit is not an option because I need the hatches. Drawing filled regions would take quite awhile and seems to defeat the purpose of linking DWGs in the first place.

I've attached a jpg of a detail as seen in acad, and as seen in Revit. As you can see, most of the hatched sqaures simply turn solid black when brought into Revit 2008. The only way to get them to come in as hatches and not solid is to increase the hatch scale to something less dense.

that looks about right - i struggled with this for awhile and then decided
to use live revit cuts for most of the details. this has many more benefits
as well.

The issue is with AutoCAD and hatch pattern scale factors. Revit does not always, in fact infrequently, interpret the scale factor from AutoCAD in model views. Simply the hatch pattern scale density is not sufficient for the scale factor of the detail view.
