Import KML files into Revit...

Trying to install existing KML files into Revit Architecture 2015.  Have seen several forum posts/tutorials/videos describing how to export designed models as KML's into Google Earth, but few on importing.  I'm vaguely familiar with Global Link and the process of transferring files between Revit and Google Earth, but again...I'm in need of a way to get existing KML's into Revit.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

The Globe Link plugin is not available for the 2015 version of Revit.

Have you tried using the CADtoEarth add-in (on the Autodesk Exchange) to see if this allows you to bring KML files into Revit?

Hi Lance, thanks for your reply...

Recently learned that Globe Link is not available for Revit 2015, so downloaded Revit 2014 and can not find a download link.  Have not tried CADtoEarth, but will look into it.  Also wondering if Autodesk makes a better program for importing KML files...AutoCAD, 3DS Max, etc.  Can you point me in the right direction or get me in touch with someone who can?

I did a search online, and found many pages with information on importing KML files into Autodesk software (355 results within these forums alone). However, I would expect that the best software to use would be affected by the specific work that you are looking to accomplish.

You could start by testing if the CADtoEarth add-in will do what you want. If not, you could start by looking at the other programs that you have installed (and see if any will import KML files). Another option would be to convert the KML file into a format that can be directly imported into Revit.

Is there any update on when globe link for Revit 2015 will be ready for download.  Cad to earth does not compare to globelink... Thanks.
