Hi there,
I'm working on the building envelope and we're getting an ifc model from the structural
consultant.
Question 1.
How should I work with the .ifc file?
1. Import the .ifc, then save as .rvt?
or
2. Link directly to the .ifc?
I think linking directly seems slower? As working with a native .rvt feels faster.
Currently the project is nearing maturity, so I'm not going to be getting fresh updates all
the time.
Should I treat it differently if I'm getting updates a few times a week?
Question 2.
All the elements of the structural .ifc model seem to be set to Phase 3.
Unless I'm mistaken, the "default" Phase my elements take on, will be the Phase I set in
the view I'm working in?
The Revit default is Phase 1.
Does that mean I should set all the views in my project to Phase 3?
Then continue from there?
I'm wondering if you guys have any thoughts on best practice for my s
