I'm going into mulit door families and adding or trying to add instance swing...

So I have my instance parameter for the angular door swing so I can change it to whatever I want 45d, 180d and people have been downloading tons of DOORS and they want to know where is the angle % opening thing? Well if they used my doors not the internets doors it would be there so I'm TRYING to get there downloaded door fitted with the Parameter and it is not working!

Best or fastest way to fit it?
Earse there swing lines and doors symbolic lines or clip clip my lines in from the couple that do work into there family?

Thanks

Its very hard to backward engineer families. I suggest you make a sep. swing symbol family(or panel family), that you nest into your doors or internet doors and replace theres and set it to equal your values.

Great Idea I'll have to make one up and try to set that up!

Thanks

Attached is a copy of Stephen Stafford's course from Autodek University
2005. It was very helpful to me especially in setting up the door swing
angle instance parameter. Also attached is the door swing family that can be
loaded into your family, delete any existing 2d geometry you are using in
your door family to represent your door swing and lock and align this family
in the correct position. Link it's width parameter to the door family width
parameter and there you go. Do the same with the thickness etc. Create a new
door swing family parameter in your family and link it to the door swing
parameter in this family, then you can control the door swing angle. For
more information the pdf explains the creation of a door family including
the door swing file and how to set it up in your door family. The Hollow
Metal frame file is needed if you do the exercise in the pdf.
