How to move objects along a surface in Revit

I was wondering if there is an easy way to move some selected objects in revit along x-axel while it still can recognize the surface and even when i move them so they would stay perpendicular against this surface?

This video shows what objects i want to move for example and how the surface is built.

P.S am kinda new to Revit also 🙂

Hi,

You have 2 options (or maybe more)
1)You can form your surface out of a floor and use a floor based component
See here for details https://screencast.autodesk.com/main/details/5179c949-d8ee-4c1a-8acb-26e14c907609
2)You can use a mass family with reference points hosted on the surface and then create an adaptive component hosted on 1 point.

Hope this helps,

Maciej
