How to make items existing (hidden)

I want to make the linetype of my walls & doors & casework hidden to
indicate existing items.
How do I do that?

While on the subject if I need 3 plans.
Existing Floor plan
Demo Floor plan
New Floor plan

How do I do this
Do I create 3 different revit models or everything in one file?

Well, I have yet to do this, but you want to learn about phases. This is how you would do your demo plans, new plans, etc all in one file. Its a neat feature in Revit. If you ever go to the properties box of an element, scroll down to the bottom. You will see the Phase create box.

This is done by Phasing
Revit = 1 Model for everything.
Look thru the help or tutorials on Phasing
Look in your wall properties near the bottom of the dialogue box
- sorry to be so brief, just on my way out.

I see how to make items existing but how do I select my entire building or
do I have to select one type at a time?

this brings up another question
How do I set my current phase as existing so that everything I draw is
already existing?
I need to draw a few more doors and windows and everything I place is new
construction

do it by view. Make floor plans that are for each phase. Make "Floor
Plan - Existing" and "Floor Plan - New". In each new view (use duplicate)
go to the view properties and set the phase and phase filter of the view.
Then if you need to draw something elese existing, go to the existing floor
plan and draw it.

Demo, existing and new floor plans are easily accomplished in RVT. But I
feel, it is very difficult for someone to describe all the steps involved.
If you have subscription, goto this link
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=5055212&linkID=3770350
and at the bottom of the page there is a webcast for RVT Phasing (55
minutes) You might need Internet Explorer to access this link.
