I have a 32bit laptop, Windows XP, 4gb RAM. I can open 55mb models but not 150bm models. I get an out of memory error. I have no problem upgrading to a bigger system that is 64bit with more RAM. I know the more the better, but what is a good RAM size? 8, 16? What do you "lage file users" use?
i would recommend 8 gigs or higher
start out at 8 if thats not enough go to 16

To back up Darren's suggestion, a minimum of 8 GB RAM are in line with the recommended requirements for Revit on the Autodesk site. Here is the link: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=12431819
For larger projects, you would be better served to meet or exceed the recommended requirements for 64-bit, rather than going with the minimum requirements.
