How do I transfer projects from Revit 2013 to Revit 2012?

I have recently been informed that my Revit 2013 is not compatible with the classes that I am taking. I have installed Revit 2012, but my projects cannot be opened in 2012. Is there a better or a way at all to transfer these projects?

Please let me know, thanks!

You cannot save down.  You can save out as an IFC, and then re-import into 2012, but expect there to be significant loss of information and/or functionality.

I wish there was another way! But thank you.
