Using the sunglass icon at the bottom...
what is the difference between HIDE and ISOLATE an object.
I'd like it to NOT print...I know that it will print even if is HIDEn....how

Hide will hide the object selected.

Isolate turns off everything BUT the object selected.

To hide and not print, use VH which will turn off the objects visibility in
the view, or go to the view properties and turn them off by unchecking
catagories.

Also, Revit 2008 has some great new tools for hiding/isolating/not printing
options, which will be here in a little more than a moth.

If you need to get something to hide but do not want all of that
category to be hidden, my usual way is to use a filter. I simply place a
descriptive word like "hidden stair' in the comment field of the
object and set up a filter to isolate that object. Faster and a lot less
trouble than worksets.
