 error: Can't obtain permission to edit the element:  The Central Model is inaccessible.  You can check out worksets at risk, but consider carefully!

 

thats what it says i took the file of my the drive but cant edit it.

It sounds like the message that shows up when you try to open a file that depends on a central file that is not in your system. Did you try opening the file usng Detach from Central? More information would be useful. Is it a file that you were working on, or a file that you received?
