having trouble installing Revit Architecture 2014 Update Release 1

I am getting an error when trying to install Revit Architecture 2014 Update Release 1. the error says it cannot locate the autodesk product on my computer.

I am getting the same error while trying to install Release 2 as well.

are you running revit architecture or revit? they are 2 separate products with 2 separate updates

I didnt think to consider that. my 2014 reads Autodesk Revit and my 2013 reads Revit Architecture

my coworker has same program loaded and he was able to load release 1 and release 2

for revit 2014 you need to install this update:

Revit 2014 Update Release 2
