Graphic on object wont rotate

Hello,

I know that you can not insert a decal onto a family.

So i created a project and loaded the family (without my desired graphic)

However I need to rotate the family.

When I rotate the family the graphic dissapears and has a mind of it own.

Is there any way of pinning the graphic to the object being able to roate both the object and graphic together?

Steph.

Yes, have had many issue with them too. I take two approaches to this depending on the situtation. Wait till the final stages before applying decals (so that objects does not have to move around anymore).

In other cases I use a material to accomplish what I need.

In this situation I created a family (a simple box). On this box I did a split face to create an area the size of my graphic.

I created a new material based on an image. made sure that size is right and that tiling etc is switched off to get a single picture.

Paint the split face with the material. I have had not issues when loading this into a project with moving around.

Split face has the advantage that it is 2d area so that material does not move over to the side or back (like with the box element)
