Getting embedded generic annotation to read the mark parameter of a family

Is there a way to get embedded generic annotion to read the mark value of an instance of a family?  The parameter doesn't show up in the family editor.

No. A generic annotation by itself or nested will not read the properties of elements in the project. The list of parameters for labels in a generic annotation family is empty because it is not associated to any category in particular. If you change the category of the generica annotation family to something such as "door tag", then you get the correspondent set of parameters for that category to create labels that can read and display the properties of doors in the project.
