Generating Graphics For....

I'm on level 7 of 14. I click on the railing command. Revit pauses and
tells me it is "Generating Graphics for Level 1" "Generating Graphics for
Level 2"...on and on it goes. My question is this; why does Revit need to
generate graphics for levels I am not working on for geometry that will
never show up on those levels? Why doesn't Revit do this all the time?

Thanks!

I'm totally guessing here but look into your view range in the VP (view
properties), also is it possible that is has to do that to look for any
constraints that might be floor to floor (the little pad lock thing)??
Like i said a total guess....
